Will our property be split 50/50 in the divorce?

While it’s true that Texas is considered a community property state, that doesn’t necessarily mean that your property will be split 50/50. According to Chapter 7 of the Texas Family Code: Award of Marital Property, courts have the right to make a “just and right” division of property, which may or may not be an even 50/50 split.
